Wild Things!

Thomas & Gabrielle are huge fans of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are. We've been reading the book for about a year, and have been listening to the audiobook nightly for about a month.

We went to see the movie tonight - wow! I love the way this reviewer described the monsters as a "dysfunctional tribe of petulant overgrown children." Quite appropriate. This was not a typical 'children's movie,' as at times it was very slow and thoughtful, but it wasn't scary at all, like I'd expected. I think it was a bit of a stretch, to be based on a nine-sentence children's book, but fun nonetheless.

In honor of the new movie, I give you Gabrielle's amended version of Where the Wild Things Are.
